About the Owner
The owner of Lust for Dust, Ashley, says cleaning is in her DNA. "I remember being 7 years old on Saturday morning and waiting for the babysitter to come over. I would be horrified at how messy our family's home was! While my sister slept and my mom and dad got ready for work, I would scurry around tidying up. Cleaning has always been a part of who I am, and something I enjoyed immensely."
Ashley goes on to recall a time she got in trouble for cleaning. "I was 17, and working part-time at the beauty counter at my local Walgreen's after school. One particular afternoon I was supposed to be setting up cosmetic displays, but somehow I got sidetracked and began cleaning and completely re-organizing the store's beauty department. It looked FABULOUS, but my manager was NOT happy, and made me stay late to get those displays up! It worked out OK, though, thankfully."
Ashley went on to become an LPN and worked as a nurse for 3 years after receiving her diploma. Itching for a change, she moved to California, and soon discovered nursing jobs were scarce.
"I had been thinking about starting my own cleaning business for a while before I moved. It planted itself in my head, and before long, I couldn't stop thinking about it," said Ashley when asked about how she ultimately ended up starting Lust for Dust. "Shortly before I left for the West Coast, I was deep cleaning my mother-in-law's home to help her out. She looked at me and said, "You know, you should get into cleaning homes. You're really great at this!"
And so, Lust for Dust was born. :)
Ashley says her favorite thing about cleaning homes "Is the opportunity to transform someone's space. One's home truly is a refuge from the outside world...one of the greatest things is to be able to come home to a clean and tidy space. I adore being a part of that." She goes on to state, "The personal relationships I'm able to form with my clients are very special to me. I'm thankful for each and every client that comes to me for home services!"
